You will be involved in the hands-on development of new starters providing them with the knowledge, skills and behaviours that are required to be a successful trader. WHAT YOU’LL DO: Be a primary deliverer of experimentation and the research method for financial markets, demonstrating how to apply statistical theory to identify and analyse trading opportunities across a range of financial instruments on a variety of markets. Demonstrate how to use data to assist in improving order execution algorithms Demonstrate how to use a quantitative approach to manage the complex risks of trading a portfolio of financial instruments Be a primary deliverer of practical trading experience for financial markets, demonstrating how to use data to provide insights and infer trends that assist in decision making. Demonstrate how to apply statistics and mathematics theory to identify and analyse trading opportunities across a range of financial instruments on a variety of Asian markets Demonstrate how to use statistical models to project future performance of stocks, dividends, indexes and their derivatives. Set clear performance expectations, provide practical, regular feedback, and contribute significantly to new starter’s performance assessment by determining what data needs to be collected regarding a new starter’s performance. Ensure new starters have a positive, rewarding, and challenging experience. Be a role model of our culture and values. WHAT YOU ARE: The ideal candidate will have strong markets and product knowledge, preferably as a market maker. You will be a natural problem solver with exceptional analytical and quantitative skills. You’re a strong performer with a passion for trading and eagerness to learn and continually improve. We work very collaboratively at Optiver, so this role will suit someone who enjoys working in a team, sharing knowledge, and learning from others. 3-8 years’ experience working as a Market Maker. During this time you will have: Appling statistics and mathematics theory to identify and analyse trading opportunities across a range of financial instruments on a variety of Asian markets Continuously worked to improve trading in the following ways: Developed models to solve complex problems with respect to pricing options, futures, stocks or ETFs Used data to assist in improving order execution algorithms Used a quantitative approach to manage the complex risks of trading a portfolio of financial instruments Used statistical models to project future performance of stocks, dividends, indexes and their derivatives. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the market making space and a broad understanding of how markets function Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure, especially in determining what data needs to be collected and how to collect and analyse it.
